Apple’s CEO Steve Jobs has resigned leaving the company in the hands of Tim Cook, previous COO. Jobs is now the Chairman of the Board.   No word on the reason Jobs resigned but insiders speculate health reasons. Job was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2004. Full article here.

 

comScore, Inc. (NASDAQ: SCOR), a leader in measuring the digital world, today released data from the comScore Video Metrix service showing that 178 million U.S. Internet users watched online video content in June for an average of 16.8 hours per viewer. The total U.S. Internet audience engaged in more than 6.2 billion viewing sessions during the course of the month, an all-time high.

Apple’s mobile operating system found on iPhones, iPads and iPod touches is reaching 37.9 million users.  This outreaches the Android OS platform by 59 percent.  Many people assume Apple supporters use all the Apple products, but the research shows only 10% of those that have access to the Apple iOS access it from more than one device.  To see more on this study, please visit comScore.

 

Watching videos on mobile devices is a growing trend that doesn’t look like it is stopping.  Nielsen found US consumers watching mobile videos increased 40% this past year.  25 million Americans watch video through their mobile device and spend an average of more than 4 hours per month doing so.    The survey is a great reminder that videos on your website need to be friendly for all mobile devices including iDevices.  atgnat can convert your video to be mobile friendly by recognizing a specific device and delivering video that matches that device.

According to Advertising Age and Brightcove, right now the top uses for corporate videos are to communicate trust specifically by those in the financial service organizations and to recruit and train employees.
